Marco Lo Russo's repertoire has already showcased his versatility as a performer and composer, switching easily from a genre to another, changing the context from a duo to a quartet, mixing tradition with modernity.
On this new release he puts again his talent at work, writing and arranging all the songs of the "World music" - the soundtrack album of the Italian TV series "Linea Verde". However the music can stand by itself, the musician didn't spare a bit
of his sensitivity to melody and harmony on any of the sixteen pieces that offer a beautiful example of a fine tuned alchemy between acoustic and electronic.
"World Music" stands under the sign of the same exquisite musical aesthetic of Marco La Russo's previous work, yet this time the sound is spiced up with "electro" elements tastefully integrated with the acoustic instruments. The elegant modernity of "Api" is maybe the best example.
The album is a captivating collection of waltzes, tangos, ethnic and oriental rhythms, with arrangements going from a minimalistic approach to lush melodic orchestrations.
The accordion, leading the way, takes the listener into a magical world where anything can happen. Darker ambient sounds alternate with joyful tunes and the perfumes of the Orient, dreams, reality, and fairytales dancing around!
The lyric of accordion at its highest expression.
