1996 - Tyler Hamilton - "Under Christ", guest artist on this Canadian Idol Finalist's debut gospel recording.

1996 - "Power Picks" - Power 92 Radio Compilation. Featured artist.

1995 - Goodspeed Staples Quartet - "Eastern Passage", guest artist. This recording won "Best Jazz Recording" honours at the 1996 East Coast Music Awards.


About

Born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta, George Koufogiannakis caught the performing bug early playing hall parties and dances, just barely in his teens.

He has been touring, recording, and performing across Canada now for more than 20 years, working with some of the country's most esteemed performers.

He is a graduate of both the Grant MacEwan College and Nova Scotia's St. Francis Xavier University Jazz Music programs where he studied with Bob Cairns, John McLean and Rod Ellias, and also holds a B.Ed.

Degree from Dalhousie University. George has recently returned to Canada, after some time abroad in the United Kingdom, where he completed his Masters of Music Degree in Jazz Performance from Leeds College of Music, University of Leeds.

One of George’s original compositions from this release has recently won the honour of appearing on the 2007 “Dig Your Roots – Creative Jazz” cross-Canada compilation CD project, sponsored by the NCRA, Corus Entertainment, and Canada Council for the Arts .
